Senior Automation Programmer

Position Overview Under the general direction of the General Manager, the Senior Programmer is responsible for the design and development of solutions for all aspects of controls systems.    

Essential Job Functions
  • Review project requirements, functional definitions and formulation of project specifications (functionality, design,etc.); ability to accurately scope PLC tasks according to project requirements.
  • PLCprogram organization, planning and development; verify and validate engineeredsystem to specifications; all aspects of control system execution fromhardware/system/network design to software/firmware development (PLC and/or PCrelated systems) to system commissioning. 
  • Contributeto designs and the development of new ideas which improve existing and newautomation for systems/processes/services.
  • Continuouslyimprove PLC program for optimized productivity and easy troubleshooting forProcess Control Specialists assisting customers.
  • Communicateand resolve application interface issues by engaging other internal teammembers.
  • Coach and mentor other programmers as needed.    

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have extensive experience with Rockwell Automation, RSLogix 500 and 5000, PanelBuilder32, RSView32, Factory Talk ViewStudio, and Microsoft Office usually obtained through a course of study resulting in an associate’s degree in a related field and  4-5 years of experience. 
  • Must be proficient in architecting PLC based controls for automation systems and have experience with logic and programming.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, verbal and written skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and organize the workload to handle multiple priorities and simultaneously meet deadlines
  • Must be knowledgeable of electrical and controls engineering theories and principles and have significant electrical aptitude and knowledge of acceptable practices, techniques and codes
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to travel between offices, to customer sites and periodically out of the immediate area.        LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMER
